Physical/chemical water analysis

Physical-chemical water analysis forms the basis for animal-appropriate and stable fish keeping. It provides objective data on environmental factors that directly affect the metabolism, respiration, immune function, and stress levels of fish.

All information at a glance

Ensuring the essential conditions for species-appropriate fish keeping. Parameters such as pH value, conductivity, ammonium, nitrite, nitrate, among others, directly determine the well-being and survival of fish.

Even minor deviations can lead to stress and physiological changes in fish, which promote diseases.

500 ml of the water to be tested

The sample container – a plastic (PET) water bottle, for example, is well suited – should not be pre-cleaned with detergent. Before taking the sample, it is advisable to rinse the sample container several times with the water sample to be tested. Submerge the container completely under water with the opening facing down and turn it until all air has escaped. Seal the container underwater.

Take the water sample in such a way that no unnecessary standing times occur; the same applies to shipping (express delivery)!

The less time between sampling and analysis, the more accurately the result reflects the current state of the water.

To detect changes in water quality in good time, an analysis should be carried out regularly. If well water or cistern water can be used to fill a pond instead of tap water, it should first be thoroughly tested for its fish compatibility.

Commercially available strip and droplet tests generally do not provide accurate and reproducible results.

Test parameters
  • pH value, conductivity – central control parameters for water chemistry

  • Ammonium, nitrate, nitrite – indicators for the functioning of the biological nitrogen cycle

  • Phosphate – indicator of incorrect feeding and overstocking

  • Total hardness and carbonate hardness, control parameters for metabolism, osmoregulation, and system stability

Two ways to DNA analysis – choose what suits you best

Order – Digital
  • Recommended for fast online processing

The fast and cost-effective way: Order your DNA analysis online and receive the results conveniently as a digital certificate in your own archive. Transparent, efficient, and accessible at any time, wherever you are.

Order – Paper form
  • Recommended for classic documentation

The classic way to DNA analysis: Submit your samples with an order form and receive the results as an official certificate in paper form. Ideal for those who value printed documentation.
